POSITION AVAILABLE: Senior Vice President of Behavioral Health Services, SIMHS

RESPONSIBLE TO: President/CEO

This is a sensitive management position with overall responsibility for the performance of the SIMHS's Division of Behavioral Health Services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

   1. Senior manager and clinician with ten (10) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in providing clinical supervision, program development and oversight, and treatment of children and adolescents with behavioral health and related problems

   2. NYS licensure in a relevant professional discipline

DUTIES: Include, but are not limited to:  

    Directs, coordinates, and supervises the operation of the behavioral health components of the SIMHS, its programs and its staff, including all clinical, administrative, and related services; program planning, development and oversight; and program performance and fiscal accountability;

   Coordinates the behavioral health division with other departments of the SIMHS;

   Serves on SIMHS committees as required;

   Coordinates activities of the behavioral health aspects of the SIMHS with existing community resources, governmental agencies, children's stakeholders, etc.;

   Complies with the Society's Policies and Procedures and New York State Mental Hygiene and other laws regarding patient care, clinical records, child abuse, HIPAA, etc.

POSITION AVAILABLE: Social Worker (Part-Time - 14 hrs/wk.)

RESPONSIBLE TO: VP for Developmental Disabilities or Designee, Elizabeth W. Pouch Center for Special People

QUALIFICATIONS:

   1. Master's Degree in social work and LCSW required  

   2. Licensed in NYS

   3. Experience in working with developmentally disabled children a plus; recent graduate will be considered

   4. Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus

DUTIES: Include, but are not limited to:  

   Provides individual, family, parental, and group therapy as part of the treatment process;

   Spends at least 70% of each week providing direct patient services to children and adults;

   Participates in evaluations of children and adults with suspected developmental disabilities;

   Participates in interdisciplinary team interviews;   Interprets results of diagnostic interviews and evaluations to clients and/or parents, where appropriate;

   Oversees the management of long-term cases;

   Applies for and secures additional services and supports for clients and families;

   Acts as a liaison with community agencies, where appropriate, such as schools, residential facilities, etc. ;

   Other duties as assigned.

POSITION AVAILABLE: Custodian (Part-Time - 19 hrs/wk.)

RESPONSIBLE TO: VP, Facilities Management Services

QUALIFICATIONS:

   1. High school graduate, vocational/technical training helpful

   2. Knowledge of maintenance and custodial procedures

   3. At least two (2) year's experience in maintenance and repair field

   4. Knowledge of tools and equipment required

   5. Self-motivating and reliable

   6. Must be able to work four (4) evenings each week

   7. Must have valid driver's license and daily use of car

   8. Must be able to obtain or hold 395 Certificate of Fitness from

NYC Fire Dept.

   9. Must provide medical clearance from physician

   10. Must be cleared by DCJS fingerprinting

DUTIES: Include, but are not limited to:  

   Performs all regular maintenance, custodial work and groundskeeping jobs, as assigned at all sites of the Society;

   Complies with the Society's Policies and Procedures and New York State Mental Hygiene and other laws regarding patient care, clinical records, child abuse, HIPAA, etc.

  

SALARY: $16 per hour

The SIMHS's requirements for professional staff are as follows:

Psychiatrist:

M.D., licensed in New York State and board certified/eligible

Psychologist:

Ph.D. or Psy.D., licensed in New York State or eligible

Social Worker:

M.S.W., licensed in New York State

Speech/Language Pathologist:

licensed in New York State

Preschool Special Education Teacher:

Master's degree and preschool certification
