ABOUT
THE SIMHS:
The Staten Island Mental
Health Society, Inc. (SIMHS), is recognized as a charity by the
Internal Revenue Service and is a registered charitable corporation
with the New York State Office of the Attorney General, Charities
Bureau. The SIMHS is exempt from paying federal income tax under
IRS Section 501(c)(3).
No information about
individuals or organizations making donations to the SIMHS is shared
with any other organization or individual, except as required by
the IRS or New York State regulations.
The books and financial
statements of the Staten Island Mental Health Society are audited
annually by an independent accounting firm.
For the Fiscal Year that
ended on June 30, 2007, the financial statements of the SIMHS indicate
the following functional classification of expenses: 94.29% for
Program Services Expenses, 4.15% for Management and General Expenses,
and 1.56% for Fundraising Expenses, respectively.

annual financial report for SIMHS may be obtained, upon request,

The SIMHS is a member of United
Way of New York City.
The SIMHS is an accredited
charity of the Better Business Bureau.
